Event Details
Easter Egg Coloring:
We need donations of snacks/beverages for the kids. If you would like to donate prizes for the Easter egg hunt, please drop them off during the Easter egg coloring night, or contact Kristin, Shirley, or Susie if you need another time to drop donated prizes off. Any donations are greatly appreciated! Please, no used items. Only new items will be accepted.
Easter Egg Hunt:
The egg hunt will begin promptly at 10 am sharp. There is not a rain/snow date for this event. Donations (both non-perishable prizes and monetary donations) gladly accepted for the following year's egg hunt at this time.
Spring Craft Bazaar (not having in 2023): In search of amateur and professional crafters/artisans alike to take part in our semi-annual Spring Craft Bazaar. $15 per table (for the use of our tables only). There will be room to set items up against the wall and to set up a small display behind the tables. The tables are approximately 6 ft long and 3 ft wide. You will need to be present in order to sell your wares. We will not be having a general cash-out point at this event and, therefore, will not be taking a percentage of your sales. You will only be responsible for the $15 per space (paid in advance), setting up the night before, manning your tables the day of the bazaar, and packing your items up at the end of the day. If you are unable to be present at this event, please inform Kristin, and she will do the best she can do to man your table as we want to make this event a smash-hit with a variety of crafters/artisans ! If you are unable to be in attendance with your items, the cost will be $20 per table. Set-up is the night before from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Please contact Kristin if interested.
Plant and Bake Sale:
Selling your extra seedlings or spring divisions is a great way to make some extra cash. We are also interested in vendors selling garden crafts, soaps, etc.! Set-up is the day before (Friday) from 3:00 to 8:00 pm. You can drop off your inventory/donations at this time.
If you decide to drop off plants as a donation and place them on the steps, please make sure to label what the plants are.
If you plan on selling your plants for a profit, please bring all plants the night before. You need two (2) labels -- One label should include the plant name (popular name is fine) and growing conditions required (if you know). The second label should include your initials and your asking price so we can tally your profits. Please make sure the label with your initials and price is easily discernible, easily readable, and large for our cashiers. We have label material available that you can pick up at the community center. The community center only keeps 17% of the sales that will go towards the maintenance and renovation of the building (we are non-profit, and your 17% donation can be tax deductible). The rest is yours to keep, or to spend on more plants (of which I am guilty of every single year!). Within 1-2 weeks after the event, you will be mailed a list of your total sales with accompanying tags and a check for your sales minus 17%.
OR - perhaps you would rather sell garden crafts! Same rules go. Just label with your initials and asking price. Make sure label is easily removable.
The kitchen will also be open selling their wares and their famous SOUP (available by the bowl or quart jar)!
Yard Sales (in June and October ~ not having 2023):
Specialize in certain items? Have antiques? Or do you just want to get rid of some junk for some extra cash? Look no further. $12.00 per space if paid before; $15.00 per space if you pay the day of - bring your own tables and set-up. Space is unlimited.
Limited tables may be available inside for $20 per table.
Tents/canopies are permitted.
Event will be held as long as it won't rain the entire day. A sprinkle here or there, we will continue the event.
Food/beverages will be for sale.
Indoor bathroom facilities available.
Please call Lana to reserve your space (610-346-7609 and leave a message). Check/money order can be made out to "Passer Community Assoc." and mailed to: PCA, c/o Lana McCarthy (please call her for her address). Refunds only in the event we cancel the flea market due to inclement weather.
Autumn Plant Exchange (pending interest):
Autumn is a great time of year to divide your perennials and come out and join us for our 1st annual plant exchange for all you plant-addicts out there. Bring a plant, get a plant... bring two plants, get two plants... bring ten plants, get ten plants. A great way to share your prized plants with those in the community, and then to take something a little different home to add to the "family". This event is not scheduled yet. Please email me (kristin@passercommunity.org) if you are interested in participating in an autumn plant exchange.
Pasta Night (not being held in 2023): Come one, come all! All-u-can-eat pasta with at least four sauces to choose from for one low price! What a way to feed yourself or the whole family in this tight economy. Looking for donations of baked goods for dessert.
Christmas Bazaar (NOT being held in 2023): It's been a long time coming, but this was one of Carrie Horne's most favorite events at PCA. Looking for crafters and artisans to fill our two-room school house with all the wonders of Christmas. For costs and responsibilities, please see details for the above-mentioned Spring bazaar. Set-up will be the night before (November 12) from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Please contact Kristin if interested. $15.00 per table and 10% of sales. You don't have to be present with your crafts for this event, just be sure to take inventory of your merchandise and add a separate tag with your name/assigned number so we can keep track of your sales when people cash-out. Looking for handmade, handcrafted items only. Commercial merchandise will be accepted on a very limited basis.
Thanksgiving Dinner (not having 2023):
We supply the turkey, ham, stuffing, and beverages. You supply a covered dish or dishes and/or dessert(s). No one leaves hungry! You may pack one (1) plate per person to take home as leftovers, and, of course you may take home anything leftover from your covered dish (sorry for this rule, but things have gotten carried away in the past). You must RSVP to Shirley at 610-346-7401 if you plan to attend as this event gets larger and larger each year. Bring games to play after dinner. Pictionary (guys against the girls) usually begins around 6-7 pm.
Christmas Covered Dish (not having 2023):
Time to celebrate the season with the community. Bring a covered dish and dessert. Beverages supplied. After our pot-luck supper, perhaps we could break into some traditional Christmas caroling -- who knows.
